How big of a yard do I need?

What if my yard isn’t a perfect rectangle?

The wall panels can be cut to fit your space, so fields can be shaped around trees, slopes, fence lines and awkward corners. If your yard is unusual, send us the measurements and we’ll talk it through.

How long does setup take?

How many touches does a player get in a match?

A commonly referenced figure in youth coaching is roughly 30–40 touches per player per match — useful as a reference point, not a verified study. The point is simple: in an 11-a-side game one ball is shared by twenty-two players, and most of the match is spent running without it. Why do more touches matter?

Skill is built by repetition against a live ball — first touch, turn, strike, recover, repeat. More touches in the same amount of time means more chances to get each of those right, and quicker feedback when they go wrong. It is why small-sided, enclosed play is used in training everywhere. Outcomes still depend on the player, the effort and the coaching; the field just removes the stoppages. The training page has striker and defender drills built for a four-sided field.
